E.J. Dionne Jr. - When Protest Becomes Intimidation - washingtonpost.com: "This is not about the politics of populism. It's about the politics of the jackboot. It's not about an opposition that has every right to free expression. It's about an angry minority engaging in intimidation backed by the threat of violence."

REPORT: NC neighborhood targeting speeders with paintball guns? This should end well. — Autoblog: "Local CBS affiliate WRAL reports that the group, Angry Neighbors with Paintball Guns, has posted signs throughout residential Durham warning speeders that they will be met with a hail of bullets of the Sherwin Williams kind. BBC NEWS | South Asia | Row over Afghan wife-starving law: "An Afghan bill allowing a husband to starve his wife if she refuses to have sex has been published in the official gazette and become law."

Hamas destroys al-Qaida group in violent Gaza battle | World news | The Observer

Hamas destroys al-Qaida group in violent Gaza battle | World news | The Observer: "An al-Qaida inspired group which briefly proclaimed 'the birth of an Islamic emirate' in the Gaza Strip included a Syrian national who was believed to be the head of its military wing, Hamas confirmed today after the group was overrun and its leader killed by police."

Interesting to see that Hamas is dealing with this. Ignorant people in the west would assume the two groups to be friends. However, if Hamas is to have any credibility at the negotiating table they have to be able to hold a cease fire. In order to do that they also need to control those who would derail any progress with violence.

On these very important issues, America is caught in a downward spiral. It makes you wish for a crisis."
